For the past decade, BioMedic has led the way in developing state-of-the-art therapeutic skincare treatments that can correct the damage associated with the aging process. The results give you smooth and youthful looking skin.

BioMedic MicroPeel is a safe and effective procedure. The MircoPeel is an in office procedure that requires little or no recovery time. Years of environmental exposure and skin conditions, such as acne can damage the skin, obscuring clarity, tone, color and texture.

Is the Biomedic Micropeel right for my skin?

At the time of your consultation, the skin care specialist will determine which acid is best for you based on your skin type. For sensitive skin, an acid-free or 2% lactic acid MircoPeel is recommended. For a more rapid exfoliation, the MicroPeel with glycolic acid at concentrations of either 30% or 50% is recommended.

What are lactic, glycolic and salicylic acids?

Lactic and glycolic acids are naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acids found in fruits and other foods. These acids are used in formulations to exfoliate and shed the surface skin. The extent of exfoliation depends on the type and concentration of the acids. At high concentrations, acids function as peeling agents, which act more rapidly, and at a deeper level. Salicylic acid may be used to treat cystic acne.

What happens during the Biomedic Micropeel?

First, dead cellular layers are removed by dermaplaning. A change in skin texture can be felt right away. Second, an alpha hydroxy acid solution is applied to the skin. A slight stinging sensation may occur but it is only momentary. After the desired level of exfoliation is reached, the solution is neutralized. This optional step of the MicroPeel helps free pores of impacted debris. Third, is a skin freezing process call Cryogenic Therapy. Carbon dioxide is applied to the face in light, circular motions. The frosty mist released by the carbon dioxide immediately relieves inflammation and cools the skin.

Will I experience any downtime after the Biomedic Micropeel?

There is usually no downtime associated with the MicroPeel. It is often referred to as “the lunchtime peel”. You may experience minor peeling in the days following the procedure.

How often would I need a Biomedic Micropeel?

For maximum results, we recommend you have the MicroPeel every six to eight weeks. More frequent treatments may produce more dramatic results. With each MicroPeel procedure, you will notice incremental improvements in the overall appearance of your skin.
