Your labia may be swollen, bruised and sore for several weeks following surgery. The application of an ice pack on for 20 minutes then off for 20 minutes for the first 24 hours helps reduce swelling. Any remaining swelling will resolve over the next 4-6 weeks. Antibiotic ointment should be placed on your incision several times a day for the first week following surgery. The sutures dissolve over the next few weeks. You may shower every day. Physical and sexual activity or tight clothing which places significant pressure on the surgical area should be avoided for 6 weeks. Change of sensation is unlikely.
