WHAT IS JUVÉDERM®

Juvéderm® injectable is a smooth gel filler that is injected under your skin to instantly smooth out those wrinkles or folds that are along the side of your nose (nasolabial folds), around your mouth, and your lips.

HOW DOES JUVÉDERM® WORK?

Juvéderm® is a safe, non-surgical treatment that can smooth out facial folds and wrinkles which helps to maintain a more youthful appearance.

IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO BEFORE THE JUVÉDERM® TREATMENT?

Patients who are taking aspirin or ibuprofen should stop taking these substances two weeks prior to the injection, as this can increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS FROM JUVÉDERM® TREATMENT?

The most common side effects are temporary injection site redness, pain, tenderness, swelling, lumping and bruising. This will subside in a few days. Exposure of the treated area to excessive sun and extreme cold weather should be minimized until any swelling and or redness has subsided.

HOW LONG DOES THE JUVÉDERM® TREATMENT TAKE?

The entire process takes approximately 45 minutes. We will need to apply topical anesthetic to the area to be treated and let that take effect for 15 minutes. The actual injection takes 30 minutes.

DOES THE JUVÉDERM® TREATMENT HURT?

The injection is slightly painful, but no more than a normal shot. Topical anesthetic is placed on the area, which will help to numb the injection site.

HOW LONG DOES JUVÉDERM®TREATMENT LAST?

Juvéderm® is the only filler that’s FDA approved to last up to 1 year.
