A promise to my patients

Today it seems like the old fashioned trusting patient and physician relationship is hard to find. My goal is to establish a trust between us that will allow the best possible outcome from your surgery on both a physical and emotional level. To make this happen we need to focus on a few important issues:
  1. Communication – This is probably the most important thing. You need to understand a lot of information in order to decide if surgery is right for you. I will do my best to provide explanations. If you have questions or do not understand please let me know, or if you feel uncomfortable let my staff know. We want to do our best to make you happy.
  2. Satisfaction – You must be satisfied with the surgical plan that we have decided upon. If you have reservations or want to make suggestions, please let me know. There are always choices and options to discuss that may be more to your satisfaction.
  3. Understanding – Remember that surgery is not an exact science. I promise to do my best but no one can guarantee results. Cosmetic surgery is both an art and a science, and we need to work together to reach your goals.
  4. Complications – No one wants a complication. We all know it can happen and we just do not want it to happen to us! My promise is to stand by you before and after surgery and get you on the road to recovery. If there are a few bumps along the road to recovery we will work through them together as quickly and efficiently as possible. This usually means more frequent appointments and sometimes further surgery or hospitalization.
  5. Smoking and Surgery –Studies have shown the negative effects of smoking on healing. There is no doubt that smokers have a much greater risk of complications from surgery. Patients having elective cosmetic surgery should not smoke for 3 weeks before and 3 weeks following surgery. During this time you cannot use other nicotine substitutes.
